About a year ago I saw an animated movie that blew my mind. when I saw it the first time it confused my mind. Then I watched it again, and then again. After seeing it three times I was able to understand it. Hats off to the writer, editor, and illustrator. The writer played a tremendous role by depicting acts so delicately. On the other hand, the graphics used were outstanding.
Its genre is fantasy/comedy. I love these types of movies with a touch of suspense and adventure. I have seen so many animated movies but this is my all-time favourite till now.
It is a 2015 animated film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures.
Its season 2 is out now in 2024.
The film follows the emotion inside the mind of a young girl named Riley as they navigate her life and help her through a difficult time. The emotions — Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust — work together to guide Riley through her experiences and memories.
Yes I am talking about the movie “inside out”
Eleven-year-old Riley has moved to San Francisco, leaving behind her life in Minnesota. In her brain, her five core emotions, Fear, Anger, Joy, Disgust, and Sadness, struggle to cope with her new life. Generally, their work is to make her happy and ensure that Riley is happy. For this purpose, her positive memories outweigh the negative memories, but sometimes, with lifestyle changes and changes in physical appearance kids become annoying. This same thing happens with Riley. Then other emotions arise.
There is a part when Joy and Sadness get lost in Riley’s long-term memory storage, a literal maze of stored old memories, so her headquarters is left in the control of Fear, Anger, and Disgust. Without Joy and Sadness, Riley’s emotions become narrowed and bitter and she falls out with old friends, forgets about making new ones, and fights with her family.

Sometimes we do things which in reality we don't want to but we do just for our loved ones.
There is another part when Riley’s dad leaves in the middle of the family’s moving house chaos and Sadness says ‘I should drive, right?’ Recognizing the sad event sadness would have been the correct response to it, but Happiness is determined she wants Riley to be happy and keep control, meaning Riley’s parents think she is happy when she is anything but.
It's a film not only for kids but as well as for elders. It shows how kids feel when they have diverse personalities and how they behave when something is not happening according to their imagination.
It is directed by Pete Docter from a screenplay he co-wrote with Meg LeFauve and Josh Cooley.
“Inside Out” is a deeply personal project for director Pete Docter, who conceived the idea in October 2009 after noticing changes in his daughter’s personality. With a budget of approximately $175 million, Docter and co-director Ronnie del Carmen spent five-and-a-half years developing the story, consulting psychologists and neuroscientists to accurately portray the mind’s inner workings. Despite significant changes to the film’s story and characters, their meticulous attention to detail delayed production but ultimately enriched the narrative.
Voice-over actors did a great job. There are some dialogues that I found apt. For example when her mom asks her about how was the drive out. Then her inner emotions answer.
Anger: “Spitting out of the car window!”
Disgust: “Definitely not when Dad was singing.”
Fear: “Wearing a seat belt!”
And the ending scene caught me again bewildered. It was unexpected and the major art of the movie.
Enjoy watching it.
